The Den – Hostages For Peace – Part 1 – Their Capture

“So, I go there, the market, the shore, the killing field, I mingle and mitigate, mitigate and negotiate, negotiate and trade, trade and capture.” ~ Alitash, Interrogator, The Den

THE DEN – HOSTAGES FOR PEACE –  PART 1  –  THEIR CAPTURE

MEET ALITASH

Africa is the womb.  The human diaspora takes turns trying to crawl back in the womb, country by country; colonial eras star spangle it’s Karma.  Civilization is measured by the treatment of women and children; mothers and wombs.

Hostages are used by patriarchal despots to negotiate the plight of the haves and have-nots, and tower over women and children. Yet, every man is a mother’s son.  Suppose the matriarchy, the womb, rears its umbilical.  Suppose she comes from Africa’s eden land east, yet claims the seed of so many tribes aloof in the world.

And suppose she captures hostages for peace rather than prisoners for war.  And suppose she enlists Khalil Gibran’s children as soldiers to hunt down hugs that will embrace a true new world order.

It’s been awhile since I engaged you with The Den.  I had to remix my concept and fleece my approach to bare the bones of the enormous amount of character profile footage.  My commitment to addressing global peace with Africa at the center is solid.  My commitment to engage your involvement is steadfast. I created this series of rapid fire trailers that introduce the characters and carve into the plot .   Check ’em out.

The Den – Hostages For Peace – Mission – Priest – Hostage 7

“I was actually happy for once to cover a peace revolution, the changing of guard in the world where youth all over the east got tired of old ass despots.” – Priest, War Correspondent

The Den Character Profile Shorts: Hostage 7 – PRIEST War Correspondent

The last mission short we shared was SHAKA,  INFRASTUCTURE AID.  Shaka’s mission took her to the wells, crops and trade markets of those unfortunately not in power.  She comes with geek cures for systemic dilapidation.  Algorithms for ‘someday’ sustainability.  But for whose side?  To view SHAKA’s  WHAT WAS YOUR MISSION, short, go to The Den Films Blog and check out recent posts.  While you are at it, navigate the site. Be my Muse. Help me bring The Den from script to screen.

NOW, LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO – PRIEST:

The Den – Hostages For Peace – Mission – Shaka – Hostage 6

“I travel to some African rural town, slip out to some shanty in the middle of nowhere, get the tribal leader to check out my gadgets.” – Shaka, Infrastructure Aid

The Den Character Profile Shorts: Hostage 6 – SHAKA – Infrastructure Aid

The last mission short we shared was HENRI,  the MERCENARY.   Henri’s mission was to capture Somali pirates.  But, he found himself captivated by Alitash who bathed him, then snatched him, threw him in The Den.  What on earth could a Mercenary contribute to the rubric of a Peace Army?  To view HENRI”s  WHAT WAS YOUR MISSION, short, go to The Den Films Blog and check out recent posts.  While you are at it, navigate the site. Be my Muse. Help me bring The Den from script to screen.

Shaka is the geek squad wrapped in international relations.  Often she openly talks with herself and everyone listens closely.  Shaka is that bathed sentient in Andromeda hooked up to the space ship that will lead them back when it’s safe for exiles to come home after the smoke of holocaust clears.

NOW LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO – SHAKA

Shaka is the blade, that surgically carves infrastructure, new hives out of trash and tragedy.

We Welcome Your comments:

What is your take on SHAKA?

What African countries are helped by international infrastructure aid?  What countries are hurt by it?

Have you ever visited or were stationed in a travel advisory country?  What was it like?

Do  you know any Americans, even by 6 degrees, who do foreign contracts in travel advisory countries?

The next Blog we will ask PRIEST, the WAR CORRESPONDENT, “What was HIS mission?”

Go to my READER’S GUIDE to keep up with the Character Profile Blogs and help you navigate The Den site.

The Den – Hostages For Peace – Mission – Henri – Hostage 5

“I mean, look, you have a super tanker being taken down by a fishing boat by a hand full of rinky dink natives.  Go figure.” – Henri, Mercenary

Last we shared NAOMI, the DIPLOMATIC COURIER.   Naomi’s  mission was to was to run hither and to, for duty and country, rolling in motorcades with ambassadors or moon lighting in  CIA convoys, delivering aid and destruction in the name of ‘Interests’.  And handing out candy bars along the way.

Now to HENRI, the MERCENARY.  Henri, the hired hand private soldier, specializes in recon and weapons and hand to hand. Contact, Direct and up close.  He has seen children explode from hollow points.  He has stood in a 4 by 4 hole for 5 days at a time, taking dumps in his cams, waiting to jump somebody or … just watch.  Filth is his deodorant and patience is his bitch.  And he has gathered memories along the way.  He pops nightmares for ecstasy.

NOW LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO – HENRI

HENRI is a young creature, military noir, James Bond dew with his sabotages and a real taste for anything ‘cept blood from the bit lip.

We Welcome Your comments:

What is your take on HENRI?

What is your position on Soldiers of Fortune.

Have you ever visited or were stationed in a travel advisory country?  What was it like?

The Den – Hostages For Peace – Mission – Naomi – Hostage 4

“I don’t know what’s in the packet.  I did not want to know.  So, nothing to do but sip warm domestic beer.  Wait ‘til morning, pass it off.  I don’t even turn on a light.” – Naomi, Diplomatic Courier

Last we shared MARCO, the TRAVELLER  Marco’s mission was to traverse the most dangerous places on the planet, relish in the campfire existence, voyeur some emptiness in his life.

Now to NAOMI, the DIPLOMATIC COURIER.  Naomi delivers the interests of the USA directly to you, personally in a packet often labeled, TOP SECRET. Naomi suffers from Motorcade PSTD.  Speeding through alleys and highways, dodging snipers and watching aputated children beg for yet another candy bar.

NOW, LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO NAOMI

NAOM will be the first and last face you see between hope and despair.

We Welcome Your comments:

The Den – Hostages For Peace – Mission – Marco – Hostage 3

“Some of the most beautiful places on this planet have the most severe travel advisories.  Those are the best places to go.” – Marco, Traveler

Last we shared KACEY the documentarian.  Kacey’s mission was documenting the coltan and cassiterite mining and the atrocities to women and children that go with it in the Congo.

Now to Marco, the traveler.  And he finds himself in a horror flick thriller scene nursing a cliche campfire in  Bujumbura   And that’s when it happened.

NOW, LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO – MARCO

Marco: “I’m an African American.  What’s gonna happen to me?  I have absolutely zero value in the African kidnapping, mugging markets. Black power!!!”

We Welcome Your comments:

What is your take on MARCO?

What makes a person want to climb a straight-up mountain or hostel in coutries with travel advisories?

Why aren’t African American tourist targets of kidnappings.  As a rule, that is.?

Have you ever visited or were stationed in a travel advisory country?  What was it like?

Do  you know any Americans, even by 6 degrees, who were taken hostage while traveling ?

The Den – Hostages For Peace – Mission – Kacey – Hostage 2

“You know how many times I had to hide because of rumors I was ripe for the slave trade picking.  I always felt the IRC, though great, looked at me out the corners of their eyes.  Like I was Nancy indie filmmaker indulging in voyeurism.” – Kacey, Documentary Filmmaker

Last we shared Charles, the Griot, found his mission at an actual mission orphanage, swallowed, finally, by the voracious thankful orphans devouring his tales.

Now to Kacey, her mission is to Document human inhumanity, only to find … what? … In her song

LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO – KACEY

Kacey sings, films, waits for a lover to come crashing at her cliff, summoned by beauty, a heart that only eternity can muster.

We Welcome Your comments:

What is your take on Kacey?

How do documentaries contribute to global peace movements?

Can documentaries hurt the global peach movement

Have you ever visited or stationed in a travel advisory country?  What was it like?

Did you know anyone who may know someone who was taken hostage while performing a peace making task?
